After setting some lofty goals for 2018, I ended up taking a break instead to catch my breath. The later part of 2017 brought a lot of change at home that effected me in more ways than I think I realized at the time. When 2018 started, between the big goals here and the goals that I needed to achieve in the shop, it all became too much all at once and I realized that I needed to prioritize and let some things go at least for a while.
I’ve gone through a lot in my business over the past few years. From rapid growth that was almost too much too fast without any clear plan to sudden loss and recovery to moving aimlessly for too long. By late last summer, I was beginning to wake up and see things clearly for the first time in a very long time. It was then that I knew I had finally reached a point in my business where I needed to start making some changes. I’ve talked about it here before and with so many ups and downs over the past couple of years I felt lost for a long time and, I’ve finally got myself on a good path in the shop. It’s been funny that even my work study student has commented on how far I’ve come recently. It’s because I was able to step back here to focus there that ultimately enabled me to make those big steps forward.
Now that things are settling in on that front, and I’ve adjusted to the life changes at home with B’s new job and more travel, I’m ready to start putting time in here again. I’ve missed it so much and I’m finally at a point where I can split my time between both again. Now that things are settling in and B and I are both adjusting to our new normal, I’ve been finding myself missing this and wanting to get back to it. Before jumping in too fast, I’ve been working behind the scenes for the past couple of weeks reworking my schedule and setting new short and long term goals that are more realistic.
I’m still splitting my topics between home decor and reno, style and some business stuff but I’ve also been wanting to incorporate some other bits like food and more. I’m still exploring where I want to go with this place and I hope that as I get back into the routine, I’ll better be able to figure out what works best for you and me.
So what’s to come?
Well, overall things are going to look pretty much like they did a year ago. I’ll be sharing inspiration for home and style with some food and business stuff added in there as well. I like to think of it as well rounded lifestyle inspiration for busy women, moms, wives, etc. My focus is definitely on the work-at-home woman.
I’ll still have Stitch Fix reviews though most likely not every month. I’m planning seasonal style guides for real women and lots of decor and home reno projects. I’m pretty excited about all that I’ve got planned and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Stay tuned this week for resources on some great neutral curtains on a budget and some progress on a major closet renovation we’ve been working on!
