Stitch Fix May 2019

Lifestyle· Self Love

21 May

If the rain ever stops, we’ll finally be able to start enjoying Spring and Summer around here.  Even though it’s been cold here the last couple of days, I’m still thinking about how to freshen up my spring and summer wardrobe.  This time of year I start pulling out a lot of dresses. It’s a way for me to feel good about how I look without sacrificing comfort.  Yes, dresses really can be comfortable if you wear the right ones.

For May’s Stitch Fix box, I didn’t request anything specific but I did ask to try some dresses and/or skirts and I mentioned that I didn’t have many nicer sandals that I could wear.  I seem to either have super casual sandals or heels and some days I want something in between.

Once again my stylist pulled through with some great spring and summer options that I’m sharing with you today.

What’s in my May 2019 Stitch Fix

I already have a couple chambray button down shirts but once again I’m finding it hard to say “no” to Liverpool.  The fabric of this shirt is super soft and smooth and drapes so nicely. It’s hard to explain but it almost feels like a dress blouse that’s chambray.  This top would look cute with white jeans and sandals, over a fun pink pair of shorts, layered over a tank top with a striped maxi skirt or under a lightweight sweater.  Seriously the options are endless. If you don’t have a great fitting chambray shirt, you should get one…now.

Mia - Donna Macrame Sandal

I think I pinned these sandals or something very similar.  I just loved the macrame detail but seeing these in person, I’m kind of afraid that I’ll never be able to keep them white.  They are adorable though and I can see them being a true summer staple with shorts, jeans or dresses.

41 Hawthorn - Neal Dress

I’ve been super picky about prints lately but this one is a winner.  A favorite Stitch Fix brand, the fit is great and the style is super flattering for my curves.  This dress confirms that I seriously need a white denim jacket but I could see this with my regular denim jacket too. The teal color is also a great option for me.  So pretty.

Market & Spruce - Ezide Textured Print Top

The color of this top is so pretty.  It’s kind of a neon coral color and the print is more of a texture than a print.  I really love the detail. The sleeveless style is actually pretty flattering and I love that this top looks great on it’s own but could also be layered with a cardigan or jacket on cooler days.

Market & Spruce - Amia Knit Skirt

I first saw this skirt on Pinterest and thought the style was cute and the print really pretty.  It’s actually even better in person. I pictured more of a sweatshirt material but it’s actually more of a slinky knit.  It is super soft and hangs really well. I’m not a big fan of short skirts because I am a little self conscious of the large scar and shape of my left knee after surgery many years ago so I tend to stay away from skirts that are above the knee.  This one is a little shorter than I prefer.

If not for the length, I could see wearing this skirt with a white tee and a denim jacket and tennis shoes or with the pink shirt from above and my white sandals.  The style is casual but the fabric makes it easy to dress up. It’s so cute, just not for me.
