When adding seasonal decor to your home, don’t forget the smaller spaces. See the simple updates I did in our powder room for spring.
Spring is a time of hope and renewal. This is especially welcome after all that has happened in our world over the past year. So why not add reminders of this new season everywhere you can? Today I’m sharing with you some simple spring updates in the powder room.
If you recall, our first floor powder room got a pretty drastic update recently. It wasn’t all that bad before but it was looking a little tired and worn and because I had some tile left over from a different project, I decided to use it to give this little space a facelift.
Once the room was finished, I never really took the time to style it aside from bringing back in a few of the pieces that were in there before. The ladder shelf over the toilet, the mirror and the metal storage basket on the wall.
While I wanted to keep the wall basket, I really wanted a different look for the decor in it and on it so I decided to hold off until I found the perfect look.

Spring Updates in the Powder Room

The overall look isn’t all that different from the decor I used before the facelift but a few new additions make all the difference and give the bathroom an entirely new look just in time for spring.
I’ve become newly acquainted with Kirkland’s. As a country girl that lives more than 20 minutes from the nearest wal-mart and didn’t know what Hobby Lobby was until just a few years ago, I had never heard of Kirkland’s.

I can honestly say that it was love at first sight and I found a few things for spring but these small bird canvases are what put me over the top.

Birds aren’t usually something I’m drawn to, but these little lovelies spoke to me immediately and I knew I wanted them in the powder room.

Just a touch of color to contrast with all the neutrals and the black details tie in perfectly with all the other black accents in the room; from the tile to the metal baskets. To pull out the yellow in the canvases, I used the same yellow flowers from before and also kept the handmade wheat vase that was a gift a few years ago.
This is such a challenging room to photograph and the photos don’t do this lovely little room justice. I just love how it looks!
