Spring is here and I’m slowly getting our house light and bright to welcome the warmer weather. I’d hoped to be sharing our spring house tour today, but had to push that out a few more days. Life has been hectic, so instead, I’m sharing my super simple spring décor in our mudroom / laundry room.
If you saw my post from the other day about my DIY artificial spring flower arrangement, then you may have seen that I’ve been adding faux flowers throughout our home to add some color and liven things up a bit. We are only just now getting buds on the trees so we aren’t yet in bloom officially. Artificial flowers have been my go to and I have to say, they aren’t bad.
For our mudroom (and laundry space) I really wanted to create a cheery welcoming space when we walk in the back door without adding a lot of clutter.

My favorite change is the addition of the yellow tulips in my hanging basket on the back door. I reused my pretty hanging basket from last year (from Target) but put in a few faux tulips in yellow to tie into the yellows in the pillows on the bench and in the rug.
I guess yellow became my theme. I also brought back my vintage yellow kitchen stool to carry this color throughout.
I swapped out my darker rug for this fun spring plaid version from Target last year. It’s the epitome of spring in my opinion!
The changes are minor, but just enough to transition from the dark days of winter to lighter and brighter spring days.
I’ll be sharing my complete spring home tour in the next several days so be sure to check back. I’m really excited about it!
