Fall is officially here (even though it doesn’t feel like it), and if you haven’t started your fall decorating, I’m sure you’ll soon be starting. From pumpkins to rustic signs to hang on the wall, fall decor is definitely some of my favorite. I just love everything about fall.

While most of my fall decor is a bit on the farmhouse side, I’ve been really wanting to add in a few hints of modern to balance all the rustic. Not wanting to go overboard, I pulled out these old vases from the Dollar Store that I’ve used in the shop in the past. They have a modern feel because they are straight, without any curves for details.

To give them a touch of fall, I simply wrapped a few stripes of copper tape around them. This was fun because I could do any design I wanted. I chose to keep things simple but the three different widths of tape add just enough interest and I think really make these old, cheap vases pop.

This project took less than 10 minutes to complete and the best part is that they tape will not ruin the vases meaning I can reuse them with or without the copper tape.

This would be a super simple custom decor item for a wedding or other special event too. There are so many ways you could use these vases and no two have to be exactly the same.
Now I’m off to figure out what more I can add copper tape to!
