Do you ever feel like you have a million projects started around your house but none of them ever seem to get finished? It can be so hard with work, kids and life in general to always have the time to get projects done. That’s the story of my life anyway.
For me, since starting the blog, I have had so many ideas for projects I want to complete and share around the house and in my work. I worry sometimes that it may seem very scattered and random.
While I really want to plan things a little better, lately I feel like I work on what I can, when I have time. If I only have an hour, it doesn’t make sense to try to paint an entire room. Instead I work on a smaller project for anther space. Is that normal, or just me?
Right now I have a number of projects in progress and I thought I’d share a few sneak peeks at what I have going on.
I shared a couple weeks ago about some inspiration I have for updates in our Master Bedroom but aside from getting my thoughts together, I haven’t really been able to do much else. I’m currently painting the walls and it’s amazing how different it feels already.
Once that is done, I have some furniture makeover projects planned and then a headboard design that I’m getting excited to share with you this fall!
While there are a ton of things I want to do in the shop itself, I’ve been focusing first on my tiny, newish office. Friday I’ll be sharing the first of many DIY projects I have planned and I have to say that I’m pretty excited about it!
Our entry hall is finally seeing some progress made in the lighting department. B has finally started working on replacing the broken light fixture in the hallway with two sconces I bought back in January. This will finally allow me to finish the small command / drop center I’ve been wanting to do.
The dining room is done minus decorating. I finally have some plans for the final touches starting with painting some of the furniture. I’m trying my hand at a distressed/ aged look to break up all the white and I’m anxious to see how it all turns out.
B finally got the prep work done on the patio, but with some unexpected vet bills, we’ve put this project on hold for a few more weeks. At least the weed covered dirt pile is mostly gone now.
Home ownership means your work is never done. When life keeps you from working on projects 24/7, the important thing is to simply take one small thing at a time. Some progress is better than none. Even though my projects may seem a bit scattered, sometimes that’s just how life is. Even one small project complete gets me a little closer to that big finish!
