One Simple Update Can Make a Big Impact

At Home· Home Decor· Kitchen & Dining

6 Aug

Sometimes even the slightest change to a space can make a big impact.  Proof that giving any room a refresh or update doesn’t have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time.  This is a topic I’ll be talking a lot about this month and this is a concept that is definitely true with the new curtains I added to our Kitchen.

We have all been spending more time at home this year so I’m guessing you are noticing more and more that you have spaces that you’d like to update or that need to be updated.

Changing out the kitchen curtains in the kitchen was not in my plans, but this past weekend I was cleaning out a closet and found two sets of white sheers that were still in their packaging.  I don’t remember when or why I bought them but I immediately knew they would be perfect on the far wall of the kitchen because they’d let in more natural light; something our kitchen doesn’t get a lot of.

Our kitchen is mostly black and white with some natural wood and warm grey.  The white curtains go perfectly and I love the subtle stripe.

This simple update adds a brighter, fresher look to the far wall of the kitchen and the sheer fabric lets in a lot more natural light even though this side of the house faces the hotel next door.  A great update in the kitchen that actually made a big impact.

So if you have a room in your house that you’ve been wanting to refresh, consider doing just one thing but make that one thing count. Maybe it’s a fresh new coat of paint. Maybe it’s moving in a piece of furniture from another room, maybe it’s changing out decor or curtains like I did. Maybe it’s buying something new. The point is that you don’t always have to do (or spend) a lot of give your home or a room in your home a refresh.

Have you made any simple updates to your home lately? Leave a comment and let me know.
