What? A new blog in 2017? Is it really worth it to start a blog this late in the game? Is it late in the game to be starting a new blog in 2017? I don’t know the answers to these questions, but I am going to find out with the launch of my new blog, Twig & White!

I am not new to blogging by a long shot. If there is one thing I am great at when it comes to blogging, it’s failing. I’ve started several over the years but never stuck with them long enough to see where they would go.
This time feels a little different though. I’ve been planning for months and the idea for the blog came out of my desire to make some changes in my work life. So here I am on this new journey.
Welcome. I am so honored that you are here, taking a few minutes out of your day to spend it with me.
My name is Bethann. I am married, am obsessed with my rescue basset hounds, and I live in an old house in an old, small town. I am a graphic designer, own a small Stationery Business and, I believe in God.
So why now?
2016 was a challenging year for me and my business. There were lots of ups and downs and by the end of the year, I really didn’t know how or if I wanted to keep it going. Honestly, I’m still not sure because the answer changes daily but one thing has been true for years, I love blogging.
The reason I’m starting now is actually because of an unexpected conversation with a family friend over Thanksgiving of 2016. The conversation was essentially about the fact that it’s never too late to go for something you want and from that conversation the idea for Twig & White was born.
Despite being a graphic designer, I never had a desire to work in the marketing department of a company or work in an ad agency. Over the years I’ve worked in a couple of architectural firms and loved architecture. I learned a lot and eventually learned how to build 3-d models and this background has definitely shaped who I am as a designer today.
Even though I design mostly wedding and special event stationery and invitations by day, I really have a love of home design and find that when my work day is done, that’s what I dream about.
So why the name, Twig & White.
Twig & White is about simply beautiful living. It’s about creating a life and home that brings joy and happiness, function and longevity; something I have been lacking. “Twig” because I want to contribute to something bigger even though I’m small. White because it’s fresh, clean and pure just like this fresh new start is for me. Welcome to Twig and White. I hope you stay for a while!
