When we started our dining room renovations back in the fall I ordered a light fixture to replace the one that came with the house. B and I really liked the new fixture, but once it was installed in the room the size was way too small and with only three bulbs, it didn’t provide nearly enough light for this naturally dark space.
We agreed that once we were done with the renovation work, had the flooring done, and were ready to start thinking furniture, we’d replace the light fixture again with something better for the space.
Now that we are nearing completion on the room, it’s time to start thinking about the lighting. B and I agree that we want something that has a farmhouse vibe that isn’t too formal is the direction we want to go. Yet because the room is simple, we want it to make a statement. Below are some ideas we have come up with.
1. Joss & Main: Charlotte Chandelier: https://www.jossandmain.com/Charlotte-Chandelier-ATGR4117.html
2. Overstock: Renate Mushroom Chandelier: https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Renate-Mushroom-Chandelier/7411409/product.html?refccid=YE7BYPHVHNT2E2KP2J2GOZVZJU&searchidx=22
3. Amazon: Parrot Uncle Antique Chandelier: https://www.amazon.com/Parrot-Uncle-Candle-Style-Chandeliers-Farmhouse/dp/B01IP3SP14/ref=sr_1_15?s=lamps-light&ie=UTF8&qid=1486599493&sr=1-15&keywords=farmhouse+chandelier
4. World Market Large Capiz Lotus Pendant Shade
5. World Market Brass Starburst
6. Birch Lane Stanton 4-light chandelier https://www.birchlane.com/Birch-Lane-Stanton-4-Light-Candle-Style-Chandelier-BL4373.html
We really love the lotus pendant because it feels a little “beachy” but I don’t love that you have to buy a pendant kit and it’s just a cord that hangs down. The BirchLane Orb chandelier was what I originally imagined for the space when we started designing the space. After assembling the graphic above, I also found this weathered oak version from Overstock. It’s a bit more expensive but I love the look of the wood since our floors are oak as well.
