When it comes to selecting vent hoods for a new kitchen, you may fall under one of two categories; focal point or utility. For our kitchen, I really wanted our vent hood to be a focal point but was quickly discouraged by the options available and the drastic range in pricing. Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorite vent hoods from around the web when it comes to exposed vent hoods for modern farmhouse kitchens.
1.Houzz Dark Shiplap Vent Hood | 2. Wood Range Vent Hood | 3. Modern Black Vent Hood | 4. 2-Tone Wooden Vent Hood | 5. Sleek Black Metal Vent Hood
Our kitchen has a strong modern vibe while still feeling like it fits in our older home. To balance old and new, I originally wanted an oak vent hood cover to tie into the oak floors and balance all the new finishes. What I soon discovered is that when it comes to pre-made options, what I saw in my head didn’t exist.
My next step was to try to convince B to help me build a custom one exactly how I envisioned it. We strongly considered that option until we realized that it may be hard to find the right “guts” when we weren’t really sure what we were doing. In the end we went with a clean and simple version like option 6 and now that it’s installed, B and I both really love it.
I’d love to know if you have a favorite or if you would have just gone for making your own if it didn’t existing anywhere already. Leave a comment below and let me know.
