February 1, 2019 marked the 2nd birthday of Twig and White. It’s hard to believe that it’s been two full years already. While I’m nowhere near where I thought I would be by now, this is by far the most successful thing I have done since starting my stationery company in 2005.
This wasn’t my first blog and I’ve been blogging for my stationery company for years but I’ve learned things in the past two months that were new. I already knew that I loved blogging but part of me feared that the desire to make it a more permanent part of my life might take the fun out of it. The reality is that I love blogging and want to be doing this for years to come. I have also learned that even though it’s quite a bit different than running my stationery shop, blogging successfully is a full time job.
It’s proven hard to keep things moving forward while still trying to keep my business going, but I feel closer than ever to start turning the tables on which place has more weight in my life. I’ve been feeling like my path is becoming clearer and clearer and it’s been very exciting.
To be fully transparent, to date, Twig and White has been nothing more than a hobby. There has been no income through product sales or affiliates thus far but I have not put a lot of effort into making money yet. The one thing I have done is build consistent traffic that is about the same after two years as my stationery shop after almost 15. That’s a start.
I really love this place, sharing my experiences both in what we are doing in our home, as well as my business knowledge.
