Hello Friends. Happy Friday. Hopefully you’ve had a good week and have something great planned for the coming weekend. I’m here today for a Friday Favorite. Today’s favorite is just one thing but it’s so good, you won’t miss the four other things.

Today I’m talking about rain boots. Here in the northeast, fall tends to bring a cornucopia of weather from warm and sunny to cool and rainy to even the first snow of the year. Luckily we haven’t seen snow here in PA yet but we’ve had plenty of rain lately and that brings me to today’s favorite item.

Several years ago I bought a pair of tall, Hunter rain boots only to discover that my calves are far too large for the standard boot. I was heartbroken. After some searching, I found they had a wide-calf version so I quickly ordered a pair thinking my days of wanting rain boots was finally over. The wide-calf boots were not only too small in the calf (still), they were also considerably shorter than the regular ones. They stopped right at the widest part of my calf which only made them look even larger.
After giving up on Hunter, I tried less expensive versions from Wal-Mart and Target only to be left feeling disappointed even more because the material of these less expensive versions didn’t have the same feel as the Hunter ones.

Eventually I gave up altogether until a couple months ago when I discovered that Hunter also makes a short version; like booties. I immediately found a style I liked and ordered them. They were love at first try on!
The reviews say they run large but I ordered the typical size I’d buy in a boot and while they are roomy, I like the room for wearing heavy socks in colder weather. If you are in between sizes, you may want to order down or if you like extra room for socks, you might want to try your normal size.

We’ve had plenty of rain lately so I’ve been wearing them a lot. I think they are a great option for those of us that can’t wear the tall version.
