The 4th of July holiday is just a week away and if your family is anything like mine, you’ll be spending it relaxing with family and friends. While I love a good patriotic tee, I usually prefer a less obvious look. Whether you’ll be attending a backyard picnic or going out with friends, I have rounded up some festive, red, white and blue outfits to inspire your 4th of July look that you can wear for the 4th or any time this summer.
I fell in love with this skirt immediately not just for the 4th of July festivities but for summer in general. It feels a little retro which is why I paired with pieces that have a similar retro or vintage feel. If you prefer a little more coverage on top, add a thin chambray button down shirt tied at the waist.
I realize a top like this may not appeal to everyone but I love unique pieces that don’t look like everything else. To play up the fun print of this top, I chose these adorable scallop hem shorts. The white sandals have a cute scallop detail as well as the tote. The look is fun and light for a picnic in the yard or even a drinks at the local bar.
I always love creating outfits with shorts that feel a little dressier. I like to think of it as treating shorts like a skirt and this outfit feels a little like that. The top from Target is so cute and at $17.99 it’s a bargain! I could see it layered under a chambray blazer with navy pants for the office. This outfit is dressy enough to wear out to a restaurant but casual enough for a picnic.
I really love this look for the beach or poolside party. The dress makes a cool swimsuit cover-up and the espadrilles keep it casual but fun. I really love the flat espadrilles that I’m seeing all over right now. Of course any time spent in the sun requires a great hat to protect your face. The bag is a more polished take on the beach tote which I love.
