I have always loved the colors of fall. Maybe it’s that I have so many fond memories of our fall picnics as a kid or that B and I got married in October, the chill in the air, the smells, textures, football and more. I say it all the time but I love everything about fall so bringing that into my home has been so much fun. Today I’m sharing some simple fall decor in the family room.

I’ve been slowly collecting fall decor over the past few months. It was so hard holding on to these things for fall to arrive! In the family room, my primary focus is on the fireplace. It’s the focal point of the room and maybe even the entire house. It’s still my favorite thing about our house.

The garland is really all that is needed. It’s beautiful but of course I had to keep my gold mirror which pulls out the golds in the garland perfectly. I could definitely use some taller pieces to anchor each side of the mirror but I made the most of what I already had and repurposed things. It’s not perfect but I can live with it for now.

On the wall between the kitchen I took down one of my tobacco baskets and in its place hung this cute little sign. I then added this simple wreath to a little color.

On the coffee table I draped this fall colored blanket. It’s a great way to protect the fabric from the boys and it’s always nice to have a blanket nearby on a chilly evening. I’d like to add a few fall pillows to the sofa but that will be about it for the family room. I’ll share an update once I have things finished up.
