Our truck camper makeover is nearly done and our first real camping trip with it is behind us, but before I share the final result with you, I wanted to share with you the easy diy flooring that we chose for the truck camper.

The truck camper makeover was something we both knew we were going to do without really having to talk a lot about it. Of course there was some discussion on the design, but in the end B focused on the outside work and I took charge of the inside.
When it came to the floors, we wanted to keep the costs low but we didn’t want to sacrifice quality. This isn’t a camper we’ll be using a lot but we didn’t want to flooring to look trashed after the first summer of use.

After researching and checking out samples in person we settled on a peel and stick wood plank flooring. Because we went so light and bright with the walls and cabinets and fabrics in the camper, we knew we could get away with a darker floor especially because the square footage of the actual floor was quite small.

Before installing the floor we cleaned the floor well. We swept out all the dirt and grime especially the years of build up in the corners. I then hand-scrubbed the entire floor and let it thoroughly dry.

Then it was time to begin installing. We staggered the planks to look like real wood flooring and slowly worked our way across the small floor. The total project took less than two hours and when it was done, the floors looked amazing! The perfect finishing touch on all of our hard work.

I added a simple braided rug with similar colors to the other fabrics just to tone down the dark floors and I can’t be happier with how they look!
The total project cost less than $100 and we have some left over that we are thinking of using in the fifth wheel. The floors look new and fresh and the best part is we didn’t’ add a lot of extra weight to the camper for traveling.
