A home’s front entry is the first impression visitors get of your home. In traditional homes they also end to be a main traffic area for both your family and visitors meaning it not only has to be beautiful, warm and welcoming for you and your guests, it also has to function well to accommodate everyday living.

Our front entry has seen a lot of changes over the years we’ve been here but it’s one of the spaces on the first floor that remains unfinished. Because there are still basics left to do like painting and trim, I think I’ve mentally struggled with keeping this space decorated.

With fall finally here, I really wanted to add a little pretty to this space despite still needing some finishing work. It’s far from perfect but that’s what is great about home decor. You don’t have to do it all at once. I’ve mixed both newer pieces I’ve been collecting along with some older pieces and shopped other rooms in my house to bring in some additional accessories to mix in true fall decor with other items for a more interesting look.

One of my favorite updates is the drapes. These hung in what used to be our dining room and even though they aren’t actually fall, the warm colors and the pattern have a harvest feel making them perfect for the season.

There is still plenty of room for improvement but I’m happy with the start that I’ve accomplished so far. Is there a space in your home that you struggle with because it needs work? Leave a comment and let me know.
