Every blogger has a story and why every blogger got started is as unique as they are. For me, I first discovered the idea of blogging in 2009. I didn’t yet realize it could be a real career but that didn’t matter to me. I loved the creative outlet it afforded and the sense of community. Both were things I really longed for at that time.
Over the years, I started a number of blogs only to quit shortly after. I love writing and the idea of it but I was never fully committed to the work it entailed just for fun.
When I started Twig & White, it was out of a need for a fresh start. I planned a long time behind the scenes before going live and I really wanted this space to be a separate outlet for me apart from my business.
At the start, there was a big part of me that hoped this would replace the business I have owned for the past 12+ years. So much changed so quickly and I felt very lost, hurt and confused. As time has passed though, I began to wonder if there was a way to bridge the gap between the two somehow. If you are here then you are most likely interested at least on some level who I am and what my story is. So, today I’m introducing the company that I started back in 2005 and still run full time today. Meet Raspberry Creative, LLC.
What started as a small business startup identity and branding studio, has become an almost exclusive wedding invitation and special event stationery design boutique. Businesses like mine have become a dime a dozen and in all shapes, sizes and quality. It’s a tough business to be in for so many reasons and I’m still trying to figure out where it’s headed. For now, just like I said above, there is a reason why I want to share that part of my life with you.
The reason I have ultimately decided to share that part of me here is because I don’t want them to be fully separate because both places are a big part of who I am. It also shows where I’m coming from should I ever get into talking more about the business side of things.
Over the past couple of years, I have had the opportunity to coach and mentor a few start ups in similar industries and I have felt such a passion to help someone else with the things I have learned. I didn’t have mentors or coaches to help guide me and I don’t want anyone else to feel as lost and hopeless as I often have. I want to share that knowledge and encouragement here, whether it is helping someone start a stationery business or a blog or start an Etsy shop. I’ve done it all and I want to use the knowledge I have gained through the 12+ years I have run Raspberry Creative and share that with you here.
So, from here, I want to know if you have questions or topics you’d like me to share. I want this place to be a helpful and inspiring one so please ask away. I promise I’ll do my best to answer what you want to know.
