The renovations we have completed in our home over the past year and a half have made such a huge improvement to the way we live in our home. The spaces we use the most are now connected allow us to spend more time together and entertain is a way we haven’t been able to in the past.

One of my favorite parts of the entire renovation is our pantry. It was the one space we went back and forth on and maybe the best use of space we’ve planned yet. The thought that this space used to be our dark and dingy laundry room still amazes me and despite it being the first space I got to decorate after our renovations, it remains my favorite.

As I was wrapping up the mudroom project, some of my efforts overflowed into the pantry as well. I made a few simple tweaks to the wall command area by adding in the clock from the old kitchen. It’s not really my preferred style now like it was when it hung in our old kitchen but for now, it works.

The other addition is the fun, black “pantry” sign above the pantry door. I love how it ties into the other black accents in the room and how the cursive lettering contrasts with all the straight lines everywhere.
I love how taking time decorating each space tells a story that wouldn’t be reflected in the same way if a room, or entire home, was decorated all at once. Slowly decorating and adding to spaces over time layers in elements and helps avoid clutter.

I love the simple additions to our pantry area; giving life and personality to an otherwise forgotten space.
Do you have a space in your home that you’ve slowly decorated to perfection over time? Leave a comment and tell me about it.
