Spring is here so get ready to celebrate the arrival of this season full of hope with a few super simple decorating tips.
Hello Friends! Easter is over so if your spring decorating revolves around Easter and you are now wondering how to decorate, I have some ideas I think you’ll enjoy today. I’ve been enjoying adding seasonal touches around the house and I’ve enjoyed sharing some of that with you starting with the coffee table, our powder room and more details in the family room.
For many of us, it’s fairly easy to decorate for the holidays but when it comes to simple seasonal decorating, it can be another story. Maybe your spring décor revolves around Easter so when it’s over (or if you don’t celebrate Easter) finding ways to decorate for the season may be more challenging. That’s why today I’m here to share some simple, easy to follow and do yourself, tips for little or no money so you can add some spring touches to your home too.
My 5 Tips for Easy Spring Decorating

Open your Windows
If it’s still too cold outside to literally open your windows then simply pull up the blinds and open the drapes. Somehow the simple act of allowing as much natural light into a space as possible instantly adds a fresh, more airy feel to any space.

Choose a color Palette
Even the most novice home decorator can create a cohesive and beautiful spring home by simply starting with a defined color palette. Maybe it’s a color that already repeats in your home, maybe it’s a color you’ve been drawn to lately, it doesn’t matter.
If you need inspiration, spend some time looking online for spring decor or scroll through store sites like Target to see what colors are currently trending.
For me this year, I’ve been drawn to shades of green; from muted sage to a more pastel minty green.
Once you have your primary color, it’s easy to select accent colors to round out your “theme” which makes it so much easier to pull your decor together.

Add Fresh and Faux Flowers
When spring is in bloom, everything seems brighter and cheerier. Mix faux and real flowers and greenery into your decor to add a little life to your home after the long winter. You can even mix real and faux flowers in the same bouquet! If possible, use flowers and greenery that follow with your chosen color palette if you’ve chosen one as explained above. You can even cut flowers and branches from your own yard to create unique arrangements without spending anything.

Use Fruit
Looking for ways to add some spring color to your kitchen without adding clutter? Display fresh fruit in a pretty bowl on your counter. This not only looks beautiful, it makes it easier to make smarter (and healthier) snacking choices for your family. Win Win!

Recover Throw Pillows
One super easy and quick way to freshen up your space for spring is to swap out your throw pillow covers. Pillow covers tend to be much less expensive to purchase or with a little time and effort are easy to make and you can make them from more than just yards of fabric.
My white and sage green pillows were made in about 30 minutes out of a shower curtain that only cost me a few dollars at Target. One shower curtain gave me enough fabric for about 5 18 – 20” pillow covers, enough for both my family room and master bedroom!
You can also use other affordable items like dish towels, placements and cloth napkins to easily make your own, one-of-a-kind pillow covers!

Spring decorating doesn’t have to be complicated, time consuming or cost a lot of money. While it’s always fun to add new fresh decor each season, getting creative or using things that you already have will add fresh pops of color to your home for spring just as well.
I hope these simple tips get you inspired to add a little spring refresh to you home. Have other ideas or questions? Leave a comment below.
