2023 Goals: Business, Blog and Life – Growth 2.0 & the Approach I’m taking with our home this year

Uncategorized

3 Jan

Happy New Year!  I’m back friends and I’m ready to move forward with a new year.  While I’d like to share a bit about what’s been going on that’s kept me from being here, today is all about 2023 and my goals for this space.

I’m not a resolution maker because they are always so easy to give up on within days.  Instead I’ve in recent years given my years a theme based on the goals I’ve set and I’ve had more positive success with this approach to a new year.

Business Goals for 2023

I’ve laid out some pretty lofty goals for my business for the coming year including opening the shop back up for retail and stage two of my growth strategy.  You can read all about that, here.  You’ll be seeing more cross promotion of these two spaces as a way to link them more as I’ve talked about in the past.

When the retail shop opens,  you’ll be hearing more about that here as well.

Blog Goals for 2023

For Bethann Renee Home and Lifestyle I also am focussed on growth this year.  Along with my business, I’ve named this year “Growth 2.0” because I’m building on the foundation established last year and am hoping to see the growth continue.

Last year wasn’t not great for this space but i’m feeling more confident about where things are now and I’m ready to take this space to the next level this year.

Photography is a big element of this year.  I’ve dusted off my old camera and have been playing around with photography for better photos on the blog and social media.  This is going to be a big focus – quality over quantity my friends.

Consistency is another focus point this year.  Last year brought with it big changes in RC as well as some major personal challenges with my Dad’s cancer and life threatening complications.  He’s still very sick with few answers to his condition so this year is still going to be a challenge but I hope to work through it as much as I can.

Social Media has been a major point of my planning for the new year.  This is one area where I’ve failed and this year I really hope to show up more, build community and see growth.

Life Goals for 2023

On a personal level this year I want to focus more on my own well-being.  Seeing everything my poor Dad has gone through this past year has really impacted what I think about my own health.

From managing stress to what I’m putting into my body as well as managing my mental health; I’m much more aware of how things are connected and I really want to begin a new health journey – not a diet because it’s so much more than just losing weight.   I don’t have all the answers to this just yet but I know I’ll be sharing more about this in the weeks and months to come.

The Direction of our Home – 2023 Home Goals.

B and I have already identified a number of projects we want to tackle at home this year and there are always smaller ones that pop up along the way.

Overall this year, we plan to take a more traditional path with our home that’s less inspired by trends and what you see everywhere online and more about what makes sense for our home.  What I’ve noticed in recent months is the trend of many home DIYers to move away from “trends” to a more traditional / transitional look is actually now a style trend and I don’t want that.  B and I want a truly timeless look that is in keeping with our home’s age and style.

A Few Planned Projects for 2023:

  • Replace flooring in my shop / studio.
  • Relocate side porch door and add built-ins in the living room
  • Finish side porch
  • Redo front bedroom
  • Update Hall Bath
  • Finish Guest Suite
  • A few deck updates out back
  • Garden stone and other yard work

In addition to our home projects, we have a few projects we want to tackle at the beach house this year too.  The bulk of the renovations are done inside but there are still a few things to wrap up.

A few projects to tackle at the beach house:

  • Paint front porch
  • Build deck and outdoor shower in backyard
  • Put up fence
  • Redo Stairs
  • Custom doors for Mechanical closet
  • Landscaping

That’s it; my vision for the coming year.  This year isn’t going to be easy with everything I hope to accomplish and the poor health of my Dad but I plan to do as much as I can to bring my vision for this year to life.  I hope you have a wonderful new year and reach all your goals!
